SUPPLEMENTARY AUDIOVISUAL COMPONENT: GIRL RISING
A fundamental and complex issue in the history of every nation is how education is covered. In republican Peru, for women to be able to train professionally, and leave behind the role of the home, is a very complex situation. We would like to mention the situation of Senna, a 14-year-old girl who lives in Rinconada. With her storytelling of how her father worked hard in the mines until he got sick, and her sister and mother had to work looking for gold. Although they motivated her to study, she was very worried about her situation. She worked in the bathrooms, charging access and cleaning, while she helped her father until he, unfortunately, passed away.
After that hard loss, Senna told her story through poetry and transformed the reality of her people, the poverty they live in, their complex quality of life, and low levels of education in a place so "rich" by the Prayed.
The video narrates the moving and harsh reality that is lived in many remote corners and even in one of the cities with the best economy in Peru, Lima. A reality that we continue to face with great gender inequality, lack of education, and extreme poverty. However, thanks to women like Senna, who do not give up despite their economic conditions, Peru can improve little by little. The story is very sad at the beginning, but it ends with a satisfying ending when you see that Senna has been building what she always wanted. A video with a lot of teaching and a lot of motivation for all Peruvians from the republic.
